Early learning, confidence and practical skills for puppies approximately 6–16 weeks of age.
Puppyhood is an important period for learning about people, animals, environments and everyday life. Our classes help you understand your puppy’s behaviour while building the skills and experiences that support healthy development.
Rather than focusing on socialisation as simply meeting lots of dogs or people, we focus on appropriate experiences, communication, coping, confidence and learning — helping you set your puppy up for life beyond puppy class.

More Than Puppy Socialisation
A good puppy class is not about exposing puppies to as much as possible. It is about helping puppies have appropriate experiences, develop useful skills and learn how to cope with the world around them.
Understanding Your Puppy
Learn how puppies communicate, what their behaviour may be telling you and how development influences what you see.

What Does Puppy Class Include?
Our Puppy Proofing course is a five-week program designed to give both you and your puppy the knowledge, practical skills and experiences needed to build strong foundations for future learning and everyday life.
Rather than focusing only on obedience or puppy-to-puppy interaction, we help owners understand why puppies behave the way they do, how development and environment influence behaviour, and how to support learning, confidence and coping as puppies grow.

Age
6–16 weeks at the beginning of the course.
If your puppy will be older than 16 weeks when the course begins, our Foundations program for dogs approximately 4–9 months of age may be the better starting point.

Week 1
Owners only — no puppies.
The first session gives owners the knowledge and preparation needed before we begin practical puppy sessions.

Important Information
Vaccinations
Puppies must be appropriately vaccinated for their age, you do not need to wait for full vaccinations, including their initial puppy vaccination. Vaccination evidence must be provided before attending class.
Booking
Places are confirmed once payment has been completed and your FPTA/Paw Partner profile has been created.
Puppy over 16 weeks?
That doesn't mean you've missed your opportunity to train. We can direct you into our Foundations program, designed for developing dogs approximately 4–9 months of age.
